JOHN
F. DONOVAN PARK
The John F. Donovan Park and Pavilion was dedicated by the
town of Vail on August
2003. The Vail park was named after John Donovan who
service for fourteen years on the Vail Town Council. The
park was named after him in recognition of his years of
effort to help preserve open space for the citizens of
Vail. The 51 acres of Donovan Park is located at 1600
South Frontage Road in West Vail. The pavilion of the
park will seat over 250 people for indoor events and
also has an outdoor patio that will hold for 100 people.
The Pavilion is available for rental events all year
round and offers a discount to local residents. The
Pavilion is suitable for conferences, parties, weddings,
and other social receptions. Donovan Park also has a
playground for children, restrooms, parking, a field for
soccer games, a picnic area, and a basketball court.
Artist Elaine Calzolari designed several pieces in the
playground and the metal fence surrounding it.
